The word YOGA means "to unite, to join or to connect." This translates into bringing a balanced, harmonious and connected state between the mind, body and spirit. Practicing yoga "asanas" or physical postures, is a wonderful way to transform the physical body and can help develop flexibility, coordination, stamina, and balance. Yoga can also be a life enhancer by bringing the practitioner mental clarity, peace and relaxation.
At Spa Koru, yoga is an intricate part of our mission as we encourage individuals to expand their boundaries & truly relax into who they are. In our studio we make every effort to accommodate all levels-from the beginner to the more advanced parctitioner. Come join us at Spa Koru, where we are proud of our caring and uniquely talented instructors. Enhance your vacation and your yoga experience, because at Spa Koru Yoga the SKY is the limit.

Tami Thompson has been practicing yoga for several years; however, it was not until she decided to pursue her yoga certification in January of 2007 that it became such an important ingredient in her life. Tami’s specialty is teaching “theme classes” where students are encouraged to focus on a particular intention or philosophy throughout the class. She always encourages her students to take their yoga off their mat and practice it in their daily lives. Tami also actively participates in organizing and promoting the growing yoga retreat program at Spa Koru.

Dancing was my first love. I trained at the High School for Performing Arts and danced with the Martha Graham Co. in New York City and London. When I found yoga in my early 50’s it became my new love. My teaching style lends itself to Vinyasa, while my years of dance training help me establish a keen eye towards proper alignment. I am inspired by the inner journey, the healthier body and the union with all things that the practice of yoga offers. It is an honor to share this with others.
