Green is the color at Koru Village

Did you know that the average American uses 650 pounds of paper each year? Did you also know that about 80% of what Americans throw away is recyclable, yet our recycling rate is only 28%? At the Koru Village we take the popular saying “reduce, reuse, and recycle” and implement it into our daily lives. From using “Green” cleaning products to sanitize our facility to reusing tip envelopes for our therapists, Koru is determined to make earth’s sustainability a priority. Koru’s most prominent green project is our recycling center that is used to recycle glass, plastic, paper, and aluminum. Recycling bins are strategically placed throughout Koru’s facility and Villas for our guests to use. Accessibility and convenience is the key when getting people to recycle and take care of their environment. In July we had our “green member of the month” who is Wes Rimmer. We decided to make him our green member of the month because he walks or rides his bike to Koru Village every day. We encourage all of our guests who are in walking distance to find an alternative mode of transportation other than driving, or to car pool if a group is coming together. Koru Village is trying to do its part in helping the environment, and we are urging our guests to do the same by providing them with advice on how to “go green.” If we all work together we can make this earth a little greener each day, help us to Spiral Up the world and send us any green tips you have at Info@SpaKoru.com or give us a call at (252)-995-3125.
