Birthday Party Wrap-up

(Avon, NC) May 28, 2010 – A lot of changes are happening on the campus of Koru, which is located on what is now ranked the # 4 beach in America, Cape Hatteras. Last night a huge party was held to commemorate Koru have five successful years on the island. Members that have been there from the beginning, new friends, and many guests came out to celebrate a place so many of them have come to ‘spiral up.’ Koru revealed a new image and name, Koru Village, which encompasses the famous Spa Koru, salon, fitness center, yoga studio, and villa accommodations. Spread out on 4 acres, Koru Village truly is the premier Wellness and Adventure campus on Hatteras Island. So when you find yourself visiting the #4 beach in America, Koru Village is located right in the heart of it all.

Community members and visitors from all over have discovered the quality of Koru throughout the years. “We have become a place for people to reach new heights, a place to stay on vacation, a place to experience the beauty of Yoga, a place to gain confidence, a place to gather as community, and truly a place to transform lives,” says Marketing Director Melissa Ardery. “It only seems natural that we include all facets of what we do in our title.  So while our spa still plays an integral part of who we are there is so much more to discover!”

Kitty Hawk Kites had their famous rock wall out for kids and kids at heart to climb the night away, while the Frisco Jubilee played classic folk music, and everyone enjoyed the food from the famous Catering Company of Hatteras Island.

With new ventures beginning like Kayak Core Fitness, Yoga on the Beach and a multitude of retreats and workshops Koru certainly has reason to celebrate! Director of Operations Grace Souter said, “I am so excited to be celebrating Spa Koru’s first five years. Every day at Koru we work toward improving lives and improving ourselves in order to make an impact on the future. It is rare that we take time to reflect on the past and how far we’ve come. Last night’s celebration was special because we got to share it with all of the individuals who helped us arrive at this moment.” As everyone lifted their glasses last night to cheers to the five amazing years Koru has had, there was certainly an excitement for all the years that are ahead!
